Thank you for visiting our website. We don't typically run our business from this site but thought we would take an opportunity to explain more about SurPlate. We were founded in Dallas, Texas in 2023 and wanted to merge the cottage food industry with tech. Over the years, we found that there were a growing number of WhatsApp groups and various messaging communities dedicated to selling food items. Wouldn't it be great to consolidate all these groups as well as explore what other cottage foods are nearby?
The cottage food industry allows for home-based chefs and bakers to sell non-perishable foods directly to consumers. These foods also known as 'Not Time or Temperature Controlled for Safety' are foods that do not require refrigeration and can be safely sold to consumers due to the low likelihood of food borne illnesses.
As a customer before you sign up, you have the ability to explore cottage foods being sold near you. Once you sign up and sign in, you can proceed with making purchases (all sales are final). You can also message your seller and see your pickup locations.
